Leah Lizarondo, Co-Founder and CEO of Critical Issue Fund grantee organization 412 Food Rescue, is featured in “Vital Voices: 100 Women Using Their Power to Empower.” A portrait of Leah (above) painted by artist Gayle Kabaker was included in the book, along with influential women such as Madeleine Albright, Greta Thunberg, Tarana Burke, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The book is produced in conjunction with the Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards.


412 Food Rescue’s innovative app connects food retailers, volunteer drivers, and non-profit organizations to reduce and redistribute surplus food. Since its founding five years ago, the organization has rescued over 6 million pounds of food and conducted over 4,000 food rescues.
